This is a story of someone who found the calling of his life early one, the mystery of the Ocean surrounding his home country, Sri Lanka was too hard to resist. Damith, found his flipper as early as 7 years old and from then till now he has not looked back. He was an extra ordinary individual who dedicated himself fully to understanding and mastering art of swimming at the highest level. He has represented his school and clubs in various tournaments in Sri Lanka and has set his foot on many podiums. Even today you can see his hunger for his students to do well at the top level. He shares this passion with everyone and he leads by example.
It was the drive to take part in swimming competitions that chartered the way for him to hit the shores of Dubai, where he set foot in 2008. He was part of the top-class swimming team representing a famous 5-star hotel in Dubai. While he was training with the squad, he would render his expertise to his teammates who struggle with a particular technique or stroke. The passion in him to see other do well, would drive him to correct the person, this helped to lift the overall quality of the team, which went onto win many UAE level tournaments.
Yet again Damith felt the challenge to push himself, to create something that would be a foundation to many talented people who want to learn to swim and to become champs atcompetition level. Armed with this passion and zest Coach Damith started his own Swimming Academy, he had a general objective to teach swimming but it’s the specific drive, which is to create a squad to compete gave him the hunger. He set on a challenging journey, started the academy in 2013 with 1 student. Fast forward 9 years and now he is still a great leader at heart and he is seeing his vision being fulfilled with his students fill the pool lanes, learning the basic, fine tuning the techniques or racing to beat a personal best time. He has great vision for the future and he wants you to be a part of it.

He has successfully created 3 top squads and now he is building this 4th squad with talented swimmers who can compete in the top level and win.
He is a man with passion for swimming in his heart, he works a team, he is a strict disciplinarian when it comes to commitment and training. He is capable of raising National, International and Olympic level swimmers. You have a rough diamond in your hands, well hand it over to him, he will make it a brilliance.
